First Stage: Evaluation

It is done on an outpatient basis, requiring no more than 72 hours.
It includes: Multidisciplinary evaluation (surgeon, psychologist, endocrinologist, cardiologist and anesthetist), blood tests (includes hormonal studies), abdominal ultrasound, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, electrocardiogram and chest X-ray.

Second Stage: Treatment

Includes hospitalization for three nights. Preoperative service, right to operting room, anesthesia and reanimation. Postoperative fluoroscopy and surgical biopsy.
